After a blissful few hours, Sophie was returned to us, fast asleep and clearly happy. We found out why, though: the nursery gave her a cup feeding to settle her down. I’m packing everything in preparation for our return home. It turns out that the hospital lets you take pretty much everything that isn’t nailed down, so I’m getting a kind of “robbing the hotel” thrill out of grabbing packets of wipes and armfuls of newborn diapers. Thoughts of using cloth diapers have, for the nonce, vanished in the wind. I’m sure we’ll have that conversation soon enough, but it’s just been too easy to use the hospital’s supply of newborn Pampers.
